On January 14, 2022 Cigar Dojo presented their top awards for premium cigar industry excellence in 2021, and Ferio Tego took three top spots!!!

The Ferio Tego Elegancia is one of two debut offerings from freshman brand Ferio Tego. This includes the Ferio Tego Generoso and the Ferio Tego Elegancia, with the former coming out of Nicaragua and the latter the Dominican Republic. The cigars were inspired by co-founder Michael Herklots and his experience as a sommelier, showcasing two unique smoking experiences that have been compared to the winery practice of offering a Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon together. For over a year, the saga of Nat Sherman, Altria Group (former parent company of Nat Sherman), and Michael Herklots (former vice president of Nat Sherman) captivated cigar enthusiasts across the country. This began with Altria’s closure of the 90-year-old brand in 2020 and was followed by the announcement of Ferio Tego, a new entity co-founded by Michael Herklots and Brendon Scott (both formerly of Nat Sherman). Fans of the brand were pleased to learn that Ferio Tego had acquired all major Nat Sherman cigar brands, though it was the company’s self-titled Ferio Tego brand that was most anticipated throughout 2021.
